Forgiveness Asana Series with Amita – Wednesday, Nov. 27

Thanksgiving is a time of grateful expression. It is also signifies the beginning of a holiday period that can be stressful and challenging. Come honor yourself and lighten the load by ritualistically removing obstacles to peace through the body and sacred sound in a deeply intentional yoga asana series designed by master yogi Sri Baba Hari Dass. Amita, a student of Babaji’s, will lead you in this soulful, richly personal, devotional salutation of forgiveness. In the safe space of community, we will offer a tight tapestry of specific sacred sound formulas or mantras linked to flowing yoga poses. Surrendering fear, anger, frustration, greed, lust, and more, we will burn away qualities that keep us at bay from our true Self and real peace.

About Amita, M.A., RYT-500

Amita is a student of master yogi Sri Baba Hari Dass, Ram Dass’s Hatha Yoga teacher in the book, Be Here Now. She discovered her voice chanting as a Vedic priestess at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple at Mount Madonna Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where she lived for the last 4 1/2 years. A trained art historian and former art museum curator, Amita currently teaches in 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher trainings as well as in Mount Madonna Institute’s Ayurveda program. From 2011-2013, she taught the required foundational pranayama, meditation, and asana class for the Yoga, Service, and Community Program, a residential Karma Yoga program at Mount Madonna Center. Known for creating deep safe space for practitioners, Amita also specializes in guiding students in the Bhakti/Tantric ritual practices of puja, mudra, and mantra. She just released her first CD, Ancient Healing Mantras for Peace, in May.
