Kirtan with Prajna Vieira and David Estes

David Estes and Prajna Vieira each bring together 25+ years of chanting experience with professional musicianship into a dynamic duo sharing a traditional style Bhakti kirtan practice in call and response with the audience. 
Both lead trading off on vocals with Prajna on harmonium and melodica and David on drum and guitar. 

David Estes grew up in India and spent several years immersed in the spiritual practices of kirtan, sanskrit text chanting, meditation and seva as a full time Ashram resident. He leads his band Ananda Rasa Kirtan and has also been a touring drummer supporting kirtan singers Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Nina Rao and many more. In addition to singing and drumming David runs his harmonium brand and business Ragamala.

Prajna Vieira is a vocalist, composer, multi-instrumentalist and yoga teacher, best known as lead singer of the acclaimed kirtan ensemble “Mukti,” and for her work with world music pioneer Jai Uttal. She began practicing kirtan at age five, and today she leads kirtans all over the west coast. Prajna’s mission is to lovingly bridge the traditional, cultural roots of Bhakti Yoga with the soulful flavor of Western music.
