Join us for monthly Qigong Classes - first Sunday of the month (generally)
Next class: Sunday July 9th
Time: 11am-12.30pm PDT (In-studio + Online)
Purchase: Buy a drop-in class $25 or use your class package.
In our Qigong class we will transition from the mechanical, to the energetic, and then into Qigong based meditation. Using both active and passive exercises we will prepare the structure so that the energy body naturally awakens, purifies, organizes and contains. Creating this vessel enables an approach to energetic meditation geared toward insight and a clarity of thought and action.
Qigong classes focus on calming and toning the nervous system, centering the mind, harmonizing the breath with the movements of the body, and cultivating energy appropriate to the changing seasons. The classes are designed to settle the emotions, and to build whole-body coordination, mental focus, a relaxed yet energized feeling, and a deeply rooted, quiet joy. These are gentle classes for folks of all bodies and abilities.
What is Qigong?
Qigong can be described as a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one's mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, and breathing techniques.
What Are The Benefits Of Qigong?
Qigong opens the flow of energy in meridians used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It enhances our ability to feel the Life Force underlying the physical world and to deepen our communication with it. Physically, slow gentle qigong movements warm tendons, ligaments, and muscles; tonify vital organs and connective tissue; and promote circulation of body fluids (blood, synovial, lymph). Thousands of studies have shown qigong effective in helping to heal life challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis.
